Autumn 2

We started this half-term by going on a walk around our local area to Ward End Library. We found out lots of information about Washwood Heath and Ward End. Did you know Warren Road is named after a rabbit warren? Or that Charlie Hall from the Laurel and Hardy films used to attend Leigh school? We then used this information to write a recount of our visit.

On Friday 15th November it was Children in Need. To help raise money for this and the distaster in the Philippines we came to school dressed in our pyjamas and bought specially made biscuits, cakes and hot chocolate. In the afternoon we did different fun activities including colouring in, designing a Children in Need t-shirt and watching films.

Operation Christmas Child - Samaritans
As a school we have been collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child which is run by Samaritans. Here are some of the boxes Leigh School have collected in a car ready to be taken to the depot.
Friendship day 26/11/13
This afternoon we did lots of activities based on friendship. We wrote a recipe for what makes a good friend and designed images of what a good friend looks like to help make the school friendship flag. Some of us also started to write an acrostic poem based on friendship.
