Welcome to 1S!
Welcome to class 1S where you can read about all the exciting things that we have been doing in school.
We've had a really busy end to our term. Our DT topic was homes. We've been thinking about them, building them, knocking them down and making them better! Have a look...
We raised money for Sports Relief by donating 50p and coming to school dressed in sporty clothes. We did lots of fun sporting activities like boxercise and managed to complete a 10 minute run! Phew!
We went for a walk to Ward End Library. We listened to some stories and then had a look around. There was lots of great books for us to read!
We had a party, a delicious Christmas meal and some of us were lucky enough to meet Father Christmas!
On the last day before the holiday we did our Christmas assembly. It was a story called Big Bad Ben of Bethlehem. We all had a part to play!
On Friday 15th November we raised money for Children In Need. We bought cakes, had our faces painted and had a lovely cup of hot chocolate! We all looked great in our pyjamas!
Our chosen charity is Age UK. They do lots of work all over the country to help improve the lives of elderly people. At the moment they are trying to make sure that all elderly people have a warm home as the weather gets colder.
We donated £1 each to come to school in non uniform. We had a great day and did lots of fun things like designing a jumper, singing songs and making cakes.
Our first special day of the new school year! We started the day by learning how to keep ourselves safe on the roads. We remembered the Green Cross Code which stells us to 'Stop, Look, Listen'. Then we had a go at crossing a road on a pretend zebra crossing.
We also learned about fire safety and designed our own posters.
In the afternoon we looked at staying safe when using the internet. Our class e-safety contract is
