Autumn Term Activities

September - December 2018

 

Forest School sessions are now offered to EYFS on a weekly basis, nursery - Mondays and Reception - Tuesdays.  Children must bring in to school a pair of wellingtons (returned every half term holiday) a waterproof jacket, hat, scarf and gloves.  We believe that "there is no such thing as bad weather, its bad clothing".  Please ensure your child has warm clothing during the Autumn term.

 

Activities children have engaged in so far:

  • Apple Day- apple bobbing, apple peeling (tool work), counting apples 
  • Bonfire/firework night- science experiment (coke/mints), sparklers
  • Fire cooking - porridge (Goldilocks and the three bears)
  • Spinderella - conker spiders, web making in the willow tree, spider hunting
  • Room on the broom- broom stick making using sticks and logs, story telling, pumpkin fun
  • Stick man- story telling, make a stick family and a home for them
  • Fairy houses - den building and fairy bracelets

Free play sessions are on offer in Forest School during breakfast club and lunchtime.

  • Pond dipping
  • Den building
  • Mud pit 
  • Gardening
  • Mini beast hunting

 

After school club activities include:

  • Free play activities

  • Nature Art
