Week 1 - 3.9.18
Outdoor Learning Environment.
The children were keen to explore their new outdoor learning environment.
Every week the children look forward to their visit to the Forest School.
In Maths the children have been learning about weight and comparing objects to see which were the heaviest or lightest. Some children ordered the objects from the lightest to the heaviest.
The children enjoyed learning about the properties of 2D shapes. They were able to create their very own shape pictures.
The children enjoyed learning about animals that are found in woodland. They sketched animals, made birds nests and even created their own playdough animals.
This week the children have been experimenting with paint to mix our own Autumn colours. We painted leaves and created our own tree in the classroom.
Bird's nests
The children in reception have been making bird nests to keep birds nice and warm. They used various materials such as twigs, leaves, feathers and string to make their nests.
This week reception have been reading a range of Percy and the Park Keeper stories.
They have been learning all about Percy and the animals in his park.
3D shapes
This week the children in reception have been learning the names of 3D shapes and the properties of shapes.
They used 3D shapes to build a house for Percy and his animals.
Exploring ice
The children in reception have been exploring the changes made to ice.
They talked about how the ice felt, how we can make ice and how ice can melt.
Conker Painting
The children in reception have been painting with conkers.
