Safety Day
Wednesday 21st September 2016 was safety day in school. Children carried out E-Safety, Fire safety and Road safety activities.

Year 4 are very fortunate to learn how to play a musical instrument with specialist music teachers.
4K are always looking forward to their music session with Mr Jennin, every Thursday.

Visit to the local Library
On Tuesday 18th October Year 4 visited the local library, Ward End Library. After settling down on the colourful rug in the teaching room , Tony, the librarian told us lots of interesting information about the library ie. the opening times, how the books are organised, other events held at the library and how we can join the library. Then she read two very interesting books, one was very unusual book because it was printed out as burger. After that we got a chance to have a look around at the books in the children's section. Before leaving the library we were given application forms to join the library.

4K displaying their Gymnastic skills
Guided Reading Parents Workshop
The focus for this years Inspire Workshop was Guided Reading. The parents came into the class and observed our new whole class Guided reading session. We started with an ERIC picture activity, for this the children had to Choose, Retrieve and Interpret the questions from the picture. Then we moved on to whole class text- The Trojan Horse. After reading the text together and answering some questions together the children then worked with their parents to complete the comprehension questions.

'Burps, Bottoms and Bile'
Open wide- let's take a look inside! We're on a voyage to investigate the busy world inside our body! Do you have a toothy grin or a winning smile? Are you brave enough to disclose the plaque, caused by the effect of sugary substances, on your pearly whites using the disclosing tablets. We will follow a tasty morsel as it makes its way through your digestive system, helped by some mouth watering saliva!
During our journey we will be creative and make a working model of the digestive system, persuading and learning how to look after this marvellous, belching, squelching, mixture-making machine we call our body.
